Day 1: Jog Falls
We will reach Hubbali by 6.00 AM. We will use washrooms inside the train to save time.
We will get into our private hired vehicle in Hubbali. Quick breakfast stop on the way.
We will then head to Jog Falls. (We will try to reach here early so as to avoid over-crowding)
It will be around 11:30AM by the time we reach Jog Falls. We will spend an ample amount of time here.
Getting into the waterfalls here is prohibited.
After waterfalls we will head towards Kodachadri.
We will reach the campsite, have dinner, play games and end our day with a good sleep.
Day 2: Kodachadri Trek
Wakeup early in the morning. Fresh up and have breakfast. Our first destination is Hidlumane Waterfalls. It will take around 2.5 hours from Shimoga to reach the starting checkpoint of Hidlumane Waterfalls. At the checkpoint we will take entry tickets and start towards the waterfalls. To reach the waterfalls we will have to walk around 2-3 kms. The starting part of the trail is pleasant but the latter is a bit tricky with heavy flowing water and slippery rocks beneath. The rocks will be sharp, so we will have to carefully check and step on them. We'll spend a good amount of time at the waterfall. We will trek back to the starting checkpost. We have a changing room there, so we can change into a dry pair of clothes. Do not forget to carry a polythene cover to drop your wet clothes.
From here we will head to Kodachadri peak. To reach the peak first we will be hiring a jeep ride for about a distance of 1.5km with hairpin bends and it's completely an off-roading trail till one point. From here we will have to trek the remaining trail to reach Kodachadri peak. We will be trekking approximately 2km. The views from the peak are mesmerising. If the weather is clear we will be able to witness sunset from the peak. After sunset we will trek down, take the jeep and get back back to our hired vehicle.
We will head to our stay, have dinner and retire for the day.
Day 3: Bell Theertha waterfalls
Our trek leader will wake us up early in the morning. We will freshen up at our stay, have breakfast and pack up. We'll check out from the stay and head to Belkal Theertha Falls.
Belkal Theertha Falls is located in Mookambika Wildlife Sanctuary. These falls drop from a 300 ft mountain called Korshi Betta. To reach Belkal Theertha Falls, we will first take entry tickets and trek towards the falls. The trek to these falls is around a 3km uphill trek so be prepared for it. Carry your own water bottle to avoid littering. This trail is a bit tiring, so carry some refreshments and ORS too if needed. We will spend ample amount of time near the Falls. Once done, we will trek back to the entry point, change our clothes and get into our hired vehicle.
