Wayanad district is located on the southern tip of the Deccan plateau and in the north-eastern part of Kerala and the most popular tourist location in Kerala. It is often called the spice garden of south, the land of paddy fields, and home of monsoon. Wayanad is spread over an area of 2132 sq km which is mainly known for its cool highland climate, misty peaks and its virgin forests.
