Coorg and Wayanad

Coorg is a popular coffee producing hill station. Undulating hills covered in lush green forests, the streams cutting right through them and a landscape dotted with coffee plantations, tea gardens and orange groves, this hill station has breathtakingly stunning scenic beauty.

Wayanad, which is also known as the ‘green paradise’ lies in between the mountains of the Western Ghats. Wayanad district is located on the southern tip of the Deccan plateau and in the north-eastern part of Kerala and the most popular tourist location in Kerala. It is often called the spice garden of south, the land of paddy fields, and home of monsoon. Wayanad is spread over an area of 2132 sq km which is mainly known for its cool highland climate, misty peaks and its virgin forests.

Namdroling Monastery Golden Temple:

The hill town is well-known for Bailkoppa or Baylkuppe, the second-largest Tibetan community outside of Tibet, which is home to the Namdroling Monastery, the principal teaching institution for the Nyingmapa school of Tibetan Buddhism. It is also famously known as Golden Temple.

Raja's seat:

The location is known as Raja's Seat because Coorg's kings used to visit there and take in the surrounding natural beauty. It's worth capturing in your cameras the mesmerising view of the sunset and sunrise.

Banasura Sagar Dam:

Another tourist attraction of Kalpetta is Banasura Sagar dam. It is the largest earth dam in India and the second largest of its kind in Asia. The dam is made up of massive stacks of stones and boulders. We can  do multiple adventure activities and witness Sunset.

Kuruvadweep Island:

We will headn to Kuruvadeep after breakfast. The Wayanad region's Kuruvadweep, also known as Kuruva Island, is a collection of islets in the middle of the Kabini River that is well-known for its boat rides on specially made bamboo rafts. Kuruva Island, which covers an area of 950 acres, is well known for its varied flora and fauna. Two little freshwater lakes can be found on these islands. They are also known to be a safe haven for migratory birds, hornbills, parrots, and many different species of butterflies.

900 Kandi:

Life moves in this untouched area of the landscape at its own leisurely pace. Local slang for "900" is Thollayiram, and "a patch of land" is Kandi. There is nothing but a lush green expanse here as far as the eye can see.
