We will travel from Hyderabad to Shimoga by Non-AC sleeper bus. We can upgrade it to AC sleeper bus as well if you are a group. It costs a little extra.
We will reach Shimoga around 7 AM and have our breakfast. We will freshen up in nearby hotel and have breakfast there. (We have roughly 45 minutes for this). After completing breakfast, we will get into the hired vehicle and move towards Agumbe.
Our first destination for the day is Kavaledurga fort. To reach Kavaledurga fort, it is a 5km trek to the top. The views from Kavaledurga fort are amazing. The fort holds a lot of history and one can spot remains of the palaces, temple and a pond on the top of the fort. It will take around 2-3 hours to explore the complete fort. Carry your own water bottles since there won't be any shop in between.
After getting down from the fort we will head to Varahi backwaters viewpoint. On the way we will complete our lunch. Varahi backwaters is a picturesque and instagrammable place there. We will click a lot of pictures here. After sunset we will head to our stay, play some group activities, later have dinner and retire for the night.
Our trek leader will wake us up early in the morning. We will freshen up, have breakfast and check out from our stay.
We'll be heading towards Nagara fort first. Nagara fort is not as huge as Kavaledurga fort but not any less beautiful.
From Nagara fort we will be heading to Devagange hill. On the top of Devangange hill we have a man made pond and a temple. You can get into the water here.
Kundadri hill is our last sight for visiting in our trip. The ride to the top of Kundadri hill is a crazy experience cause of the steep uphills. Kundadri hill has very beautiful views to offer us of the western ghats there. On top of Kundadri hill there is a jain temple too.
Enroute lunch, we will head to Shimoga to catch train back to Hyderabad.
It'll be around 7 in the morning by the time we reach Hyderabad.
