Gokarna: Home to pristine beaches bordered by swaying palms and renowned Hindu shrines, Gokarna is an unspoilt temple town in Karnataka. Literally meaning cow's ear, the quaint town of Gokarna in Karnataka is formed by the ear-shaped confluence of two rivers and the favourite destination for Hindu pilgrims, Sanskrit scholars, and beach buffs. Om Beach, one of Gokarna's five famed beaches, takes the shape of the 'Om', a Hindu spiritual symbol. The other beaches, wedged between gigantic cliffs that protrude like delicate fingers into the sea, are Gokarna, Kudle, Half Moon, and Paradise. The path that leads to Gokarna is a scenic delight with rocky mountains and the Western Ghats on one side, and the Arabian Sea on the other. Adventurous tourists must be prepared for a bit of cliff-scrambling in this coastal town.
Vibhuthi Falls: Vibhooti Falls is one of the many waterfalls in the Western Ghats. Surrounded by large rocks and limestone deposits, the waterfall is a picturesque spot. The water flows in steps that make it the ideal refuge spot for hot summers. Set about 50 kilometers from Sirsi in North Kanara, the waterfall gets its name from the limestone rock found in the area. Vibhooti also translates to mean ash. According to local legends, the waterfall was formed when ashes from the burning of Basmasur had washed away. It is also known as the Mabgi Falls because of its proximity to a village by the same name.
Murudeshwar: The Murudeshwar temple is built on the Kanduka hill in the quaint town of Murudeshwar which lies in the Bhatkal Taluk of the north Kannada district. As a result, it is surrounded by beautiful views of the Arabian Sea which falls on three sides of the temple. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. In fact, Murudeshwar is one of the forms of the great Hindu deity Shiva who is revered by devotees all across the globe. What the Murudeshwar temple is most famous for is the massive Shiva statue it houses. Known to be the second-highest statue of Sri Anantadrishti, another name for Lord Shiva, the huge structure can be seen from afar. It is 123 feet tall and was built in over two years. The sight of sunlight falling on the statue is one to behold as the statue has been strategically placed in a way that it sparkles when the morning light falls on it.
Dandeli: Nature is at its bountiful best at Dandeli (North Karnataka) with a swiftly flowing river and great rapids making it a haven for adventure and water sports enthusiasts. Dense forests around Dandeli are home to some of the most revered wild species including elephants, bison, panthers, leopards, and tigers, calling for an adventurous tryst with these majestic beasts into the heart of the wilderness. While exploring the challenging Kavala Caves and experiencing the natural water springs are some of the other adventurous experiences not to be missed. All in all, Dandeli has a plethora of activities to indulge anyone. Revel in the adventures and the unparalleled scenic beauty of this destination located on the banks of the Kali River is complemented by the exotic wildlife that resides in its tropical forests.
Notes for the day:
1. You will not get time to change your dress till we reach Murudeshwar the next day morning;
so wear your desired clothes before boarding the train/bus itself.
2. Don't forget to carry a thin blanket to be used for the night journey.
Train reaches Hubli around 6 AM. After arrival at Hubli, We will quickly transfer to the GoAdventure hired bus at Hubli and head towards Vibhooti falls. On the way, We will stop for breakfast. It takes around 3 hours to reach Vibhooti waterfalls from Hubli railway station.
Vibhooti waterfalls is located around 1 km away from the parking. Our trek leaders will take care of entry fee and parking fee. You can carry one pair of clothes and towel to change clothes after swimming at falls. You can rent lifejackets as well from life guard if you don't know how to swim.
The definition of "Vibhuthi" is "limestone." Since the water in this waterfall comes past limestone rocks located close to Yana, locals refer to it as "Vibhuthi Falls." Vibhooti falls is located in Uttara kannada district of Karnataka.
Note 1: You can carry a polythene cover to keep wet clothes or wear quick dry clothes to avoid changing clothes and save time.
Note 2: Water exhausts our energy. So, please carry healthy snacks or energy bars with you.
Gokarna Beach Trek:
Northern Karnataka's Gokarna is a true beach paradise! There are six main beaches there, all of which feature beautiful views, calm surf, and clean water. They include the Belekan beach, Paradise Beach, Half Moon Beach, Om Beach, and the Main Beach in Gokarna. Between these beaches, there are beautifully landscaped hills, which adds to Gokarna's appeal as a tourist destination. These hills not only enhance Gokarna's scenic beauty overall, but they also provide access to the exciting Gokarna Beach Trek!
Gokarna Beach Trek is the fun way to go Beach Hopping in Gokarna. We will start our trek from Belekan beach. Aim of this trek is to cover all the major beaches of Gokarna on foot by crossing the hills standing in between these beaches and wintess the magical sunset on Arabian sea. Our trek leaders will take care of route. There are few diversions in the middle, Please ensure that you stay with the group. After 30 minutes of walk, we will come to Paradise cliff, where it's revealing scene of entire Paradise beach along with Arabian sea.
After spending sometime in Paradise beach, We will take the group photo and continue our hike towards Half moon beach. At the beginning, there is a little rock and boulder climbing. The route gradually ascends as you go further, and the vistas are breathtaking! Two picture opportunities along the trip are Little Hell Beach and Hell Cliff. Be cautious of the rocks if you want to go off the route and explore these places. They could be rather slippery and difficult. In this trek route, there are a lot of beautiful places, and if you're fortunate, you could even see some dolphins.
After an hour walk we will arrive at half moon and we will wait entire team to gather here. You can rest here for few min with calmness of sea and resume hike towards Om beach. A little incline is there at first, then the route meanders gradually through the forest. Once again, this portion of the walk is a lot of fun! Just before the Om Beach, there is a cliff that provides a stunning perspective of the whole Om Beach. At this point, the Om Form of the beach is visible from above. Om Beach View Point is where it is pinned. Hence, stopping here is definitely worthwhile. The gorgeous Om Beach is only a little distance ahead. Enjoy a fun-filled day at Om Beach.
We will head to our night stay followed by, On the way We will have dinner.
Wake up early and be prepared for check-out before 7 AM.
Murudeshwar temple known for the “world's second tallest Shiva statue”. Also, RajaGopuram offers the view of Arabian sea from 21st floor. Gopuram is 249 ft taller and we can go top by lift. There is no special dress code required to visit the temple. We will complete temple darshan and have our breakfast in nearby restaurants.
Honnavar is absolutely a hidden gem and became popular in recent times. Mangrove islands, boat ride and amazing sceneries are most famous here.
Walking along this lovely wooden path surrounded with lush Mangrove trees is one of the best ways to relax and calm ourselves. It's the ideal spot to simply spend an hour or two. Moreover, mangroves remain consistently green throughout the year, are salt resistant, aid in the removal of heavy metals from water, and reduce coastal erosion.
Exploring the Sharavati Backwaters by Boat It was a once in a great experience to go on a boat ride through a region with coconut trees lining the sides and numerous small mangrove islands. We will take care of entry fee.
After completing Honnvar, We will continue journey towards Dandeli.
Wake up early and head for a small hike in the forest near the campsite. A local guide will accompany you.
After this, complete breakfast (Complimentary) and we will head to the activities arena:
