Jog falls and Kodachadri Trek

Jog Falls
Jog Falls is one of the highest and most spectacular waterfalls in India, located in the Shimoga district of Karnataka.
The Sharavathi River plunges from a height of 830 feet in four distinct cascades – Raja, Rani, Roarer, and Rocket – creating a thunderous and mesmerizing view.
Surrounded by lush greenery and misty cliffs, Jog Falls is especially breathtaking during the monsoon season when the water flow is at its peak.
It's a perfect destination for nature lovers and photography enthusiasts looking to witness the raw beauty of the Western Ghats.

Kodachadri Trek
Kodachadri is a scenic mountain peak located in the Western Ghats of Karnataka, standing at an elevation of about 1,343 meters.
The trek to Kodachadri offers a thrilling blend of dense forests, cascading streams, rolling meadows, and panoramic views of the Arabian Sea on clear days.
At the summit, you’ll find the ancient Mookambika temple, adding spiritual charm to the adventure.
The trail is moderate in difficulty, making it suitable for both beginners and experienced trekkers.
It's one of Karnataka’s most rewarding treks, especially during the monsoon when the entire route comes alive with lush greenery and mist.

Day 2: Jog Falls Visit and Travel to Kodachadri Base

After arriving early in the morning, quickly transfer to our private vehicle arranged by GoAdventure.
We then begin the drive towards Jog Falls, one of the tallest and most majestic waterfalls in India.
With water falling from a height of over 800 feet, Jog Falls is a breathtaking sight, especially during the monsoon when it’s in full glory.
Spend some relaxed time at the viewpoints capturing photos and soaking in the misty spray of the falls.
We’ll also stop for breakfast en route and enjoy a locally prepared lunch later in the day.

After exploring Jog Falls, we continue our journey toward the Kodachadri base.
The drive offers stunning views of the Western Ghats, forested roads, and tranquil villages.
By evening, we reach our stay near the Kodachadri trekking point.
The property is nestled in nature and exclusive to GoAdventure, providing a peaceful environment to unwind.
Enjoy a hearty local dinner and rest up for the exciting trek the next day.

  • Carry your water bottles, and avoid plastic usage.
  • Respect local culture and natural surroundings during your visit.
  • The ride may be long, so keep your essentials accessible in a daypack.

Day 3: Kodachadri Trek and Return to Hyderabad

Wake up early and gear up for the Kodachadri trek — a serene yet thrilling hike through dense forests, open meadows, and misty mountain trails.
This is one of the most beautiful treks in Karnataka, with the trail gradually ascending toward the peak, offering panoramic views along the way.
The sunrise on clear days is surreal, making the early start absolutely worth it.
The trek takes about 4–5 hours round trip, and our guides ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants.

Post-trek, we return to the basecamp for freshening up and a well-deserved meal.
After relaxing for a bit, we begin our return journey by vehicle to the railway station.
From there, we board the train back to Hyderabad, marking the end of a memorable and rejuvenating weekend adventure.

Note:

  • Start the trek with adequate water and sun protection.
  • Wear sturdy shoes with good grip, as the terrain can be slippery during monsoon.
  • Avoid littering on the trail and stick with the group for safety.

Incase Jog Falls is closed, we will alternatively visit an other waterfall.
