Day 0 – Overnight Train from Hyderabad to Karnataka

Your Kudremukh trek journey begins with an overnight train from Hyderabad to Karnataka. Sleeper class train tickets are included, and you can upgrade to 3AC for extra comfort. Rest well, as your Chikkamagaluru adventure starts early the next morning.

Day 1 – Mullayanagiri Peak, Jhari Falls & Optional Zipline

Arrive at Base Railway Station early morning and travel by private vehicle to Chikkamagaluru. After a quick fresh-up, visit Mullayanagiri Peak, the highest peak in Karnataka, known for its breathtaking Western Ghats views.

Next, head to Jhari Falls (also called Buttermilk Falls), a beautiful waterfall surrounded by dense forests. For thrill-seekers, an optional zipline adventure is available at a nearby scenic spot. The day ends with a drive to Kalasa, dinner, and overnight stay.

Day 2 – Full-Day Kudremukh Trek

After an early breakfast, drive to the Kudremukh trek base. This full-day trek in Kudremukh National Park takes approximately 8–9 hours, passing through lush grasslands, misty valleys, and cool mountain streams. The scenic ridgeline views and diverse wildlife make it one of the most memorable treks in Karnataka. Return to Kalasa by evening for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3 – Heritage Circuit or Nature & Waterfalls

Option 1 – Temple Heritage Circuit:
Visit the Sringeri Sharada Peetham, a historic 8th-century temple founded by Adi Shankaracharya. Continue to Belur Chennakeshava Temple, a masterpiece of 12th-century Hoysala architecture.

Option 2 – Nature & Waterfalls:
Take a short, scenic hike to Z Point for panoramic hill views, followed by a refreshing visit to Hebbe Falls, one of Chikkamagaluru’s most beautiful waterfalls.

The Kudremukh trek is a full-day hike covering approximately 18 km (to and fro). It takes around 8–9 hours including breaks and photo stops. The trail passes through rolling grasslands, shola forests, and gentle ridgelines.

2. What is the best time to visit Kudremukh?
The best time is June to February. Monsoon (June–September) offers lush greenery and flowing streams, while post-monsoon (October–February) brings clear skies and panoramic views.

3. Do I need a permit for the Kudremukh trek?
Yes, a forest entry permit is required to trek in Kudremukh National Park. Your permit cost is included in the package, and our team will arrange it before your trek day.

4. Is the Kudremukh trek beginner-friendly?
Yes. The trek is classified as Easy–Moderate and is suitable for first-time trekkers with basic fitness levels.

5. How far is Mullayanagiri Peak from Chikkamagaluru?
Mullayanagiri Peak is approximately 20 km from Chikkamagaluru town and takes about 45 minutes by vehicle.

6. How far is Jhari Falls from Mullayanagiri?
Jhari Falls is around 12 km from Mullayanagiri Peak and takes about 30–40 minutes to reach by jeep or vehicle.

7. Are meals included during the trip?
Yes. The package includes 2 breakfasts and 2 dinners along with accommodation. Lunch is not included, but we will stop at local eateries or arrange packed meals during travel or trekking days.

8. Is the zipline included in the package?
No. The zipline is an optional activity available near Jhari Falls and is payable directly to the local operator.

9. What should I pack for the Kudremukh trek?
We recommend comfortable trekking shoes, a light rain jacket (especially during monsoon), reusable water bottle, small backpack, personal medicines, and a change of clothes for after the trek.

10. Can I join the trip if I’m travelling solo?
Absolutely! Many of our participants are solo travellers, and we ensure a safe and friendly group environment.
