Alang Madan Kulang Trek


Alang Madan Kulang trek, also known popularly as AMK or Alangad Madangad Kulangad lies in the Kalsubai range of the Sahyadris, in Nashik district, Maharashtra. History of AMK is still not known, but it is been used as watchtower for surrounding area. One cannot climb AMK without technical knowledge of rock climbing. AMK Adventure Trek is a perfect mixture of Trekking, Climbing, Rappelling, Traversing, Jungle Walk & of course unbelievable Satisfaction.


Day 0 : Hyderabad to Nashik

  • Start from Secunderabad Railway Station @ 1:20 pm

Day 1 : Trekking day 1

  • Reach Nashik by 3:00 am
  • Local transport from Nashik to Base village
  • Reach base village and have breakfast. head towards Alang fort.
  • Start ascending towards Alang fort
  • Climb 70 ft. patch wall
  • Explore Alang Fort & water cistern
  • Climb down 70ft patch wall again & head towards Madan fort.
  • After climbing the steps, a straight 50 ft high edge has to be climbed using rock climbing equipment.
  • Reach the fort and enjoy the sunset
  • We will camp at Madan fort.
  • Lunch will be prepared at Madan fort.
  • Stare at the vast star-lit sky and sleep

Day 2 : Trekking day 2

  • Wake up and climb down 50ft rock patch. Head towards Kulang fort.
  • Climb the steps carved out of the rock.
  • Reach Kulang fort & explore
  • Climb down all the steps and head towards base village
  • Reach train @ 8:50 pm from Manmad

Day 3 : Manmad to Hyderabad

  • Reach Hyderabad @8:50 am

Clothing & Footwear

  • Walking/Sports/Trekking shoe. (Please make sure that you are using soft rubber-sole footwear)
  • 30-40 L backpack (Do not carry suitcases or trolleys)
  • Sleeping bag (You can replace it with a thin blanket or bed-sheet if you don't want to invest in a sleeping bag)
  • 3 pairs of quick-dry clothing. (Please wear one pair on Friday night before coming to the railway station. You'll not get an opportunity to change during our travel.)
  • 3 pairs of socks
  • Raincoat, rain cover for your bag, zip-lock pouches for mobiles

Food & Beverage

  • Min 2 liters of water each (Please bring reusable water bottles so that together we can discourage the use of plastic on the trails)
  • Snacks (Carry plenty of dry snacks, energy bars, candies & ORS to munch on during the trek)

 Miscellaneous:

  • Camera
  • Power bank
  • Govt. Issued ID proof
  • Headtorch / Hand-held torch (Avoid mobile flashlights.)
  • Medicines (If you have any health issues. Please ensure that you inform our trek leaders beforehand.)
  • Sanitation kit (Carrying Odomos would come in handy)
