1. Where is Gorakhgad Fort located?
Gorakhgad Fort is located in the Malshej region of Maharashtra, about 100 km from Mumbai and Pune, and is part of the Sahyadri mountain range.

2. What is the difficulty level of the trek?
The trek is moderate. While the initial forest trail is easy, the final stretch involves steep rock-cut steps and narrow ridges that require caution.

3. How long does the trek take?
It usually takes around 3–4 hours to ascend and 2–2.5 hours to descend, depending on your pace and breaks.

4. Do I need prior trekking experience?
Not necessarily. Beginners with good fitness levels can do it, but those afraid of heights should be mentally prepared for the steep sections.

5. What is the best time to do the Gorakhgad Trek?
The ideal time is October to February for clear views and pleasant weather. The monsoon season (June–September) offers lush greenery but the trail can be slippery.

6. Is night trekking allowed?
Night treks are generally not recommended due to steep climbs and safety concerns. It’s best to start early in the morning.

7. What should I carry for the trek?
Carry a daypack with water (2–3 litres), snacks, sturdy trekking shoes, a rain jacket (in monsoon), a cap, sunscreen, and a personal first-aid kit.

8. Are meals provided during the trek?
Yes, in most organised treks, breakfast and dinner are arranged at a local homestay.

9. Is there mobile network coverage?
Mobile network is patchy along the trail and at the summit, so it’s best to inform family before starting.

10. What other attractions can I visit nearby?
You can explore Malshej Ghat, Harishchandragad Fort, and several waterfalls in the region for an extended trip.
