Board the night train from Hyderabad to Manmad with your bag packed and excitement building up for the trip.
The overnight journey will take about 10–11 hours.
Settle into your berth, relax, and get some rest as the train takes you closer to the Sahyadris.
By morning, you’ll reach Manmad, ready to begin your first trek.
Arrive at Manmad and head straight towards the base village of Nirgudpada.
After a quick breakfast, the trail to Harihar Fort begins — a fort that has both beauty and thrill stitched into its stones.
The trek starts gently, winding through fields and rocky paths, but soon you find yourself at the legendary staircase.
Carved steeply into the mountain at almost 70 degrees, these steps test your nerve and pump your adrenaline as you climb higher, each step revealing a little more of the valley below.
At the top, you’re rewarded with vast Sahyadri views stretching across the Trimbakeshwar range, forts like Bhaskargad, and endless green ridges.
Descend carefully, return to the base, and fuel up with a hot village meal.
Wake up early to the chill of mountain air and set out on the trail to Ratangad Fort.
The trek takes about three to four hours to ascend, winding through thick forest patches and rocky ledges.
At the summit, you step into history — ancient caves, bastions that once guarded warriors, and the breathtaking natural rock window known as the Nedhe, which frames a stunning view of the valleys and peaks beyond.
This fort truly lives up to its title, the “Jewel of the Sahyadris.”
After hours of exploration and soaking in the panoramas, descend back to Ratanwadi by afternoon for a hearty meal.
The evening is for slow living: chatting with locals, or simply stretching out under the night sky before dinner and rest.
At dawn, leave Ratanwadi and drive to Bari village, the base for the climb to Kalsubai Peak, the highest point in Maharashtra at 5,400 ft.
The trail is long but manageable, with iron ladders placed at steep stretches to guide you safely upward.
The trek takes three to four hours, each step bringing a stronger sense of achievement. When you finally stand at the summit temple of Goddess Kalsubai, the world spreads out in every direction — the Bhandardara backwaters shimmering below, and the rugged silhouettes of Alang, Madan, and Kulang rising proudly on the horizon.
After descending and enjoying a traditional village meal, it’s time to head back to Manmad.
As the evening train whistles you back to Hyderabad, you carry with you sore muscles, satisfied smiles, and the thrill of having conquered three legendary treks in just one unforgettable weekend.
