Day 0: Hyderabad to Pune

Day 1: Katraj to Sinhagad

The trek commences at the break of dawn from Katraj, where adventurers gather their gear and set out with determination. The early morning air is crisp as they embark on the trail, which meanders through verdant hills and valleys. With each step, the landscape transforms, revealing the natural beauty of the Western Ghats.

Midway through the trek, a brief respite offers a chance to recharge and refuel. Trekkers take a moment to catch their breath, enjoying snacks and water amidst the breathtaking scenery. Energized and rejuvenated, they press onward, tackling the rugged terrain as they draw closer to their destination.

As the day progresses, the trail ascends steadily towards Sinhagad Fort, a historic stronghold perched atop a towering hill. By late afternoon or early evening, weary but determined trekkers reach their goal, greeted by the imposing walls of the fort and panoramic views stretching as far as the eye can see.

With the sun setting on the horizon, Sinhagad Fort becomes a tranquil sanctuary, bathed in the warm hues of twilight. Trekkers take a moment to savor the tranquility of the evening, reflecting on the challenges overcome and the beauty of the journey. For those staying overnight, the opportunity to camp beneath the stars offers a chance to connect with nature in its purest form.

Day 2: Sinhagad to Pune

As dawn breaks over Sinhagad Fort, trekkers awaken to the gentle light of morning. The sunrise paints the sky in brilliant shades of orange and gold, casting a magical glow over the landscape. With renewed energy, they set out to explore the fort and its surroundings, uncovering centuries of history and heritage.

After a morning of exploration, it's time to begin the descent back to Pune. Trekkers bid farewell to Sinhagad, their hearts full of memories and their minds enriched by the experiences of the journey. Whether retracing their steps or taking an alternative route, the return trek offers a chance to reflect on the adventure and camaraderie shared along the way.

By late morning or early afternoon, trekkers arrive back in Pune, their spirits lifted and their bodies weary but satisfied. As they bid farewell to the rugged beauty of the Western Ghats, they carry with them the memories of their epic trek from Katraj to Sinhagad, a journey that will stay with them for a lifetime.

Clothing & Footwear

  • Walking/Sports/Trekking shoe. (Please make sure that you are using soft rubber-sole footwear)
  • 30-40 L backpack (Do not carry suitcases or trolleys)
  • Sleeping bag (You can replace it with a thin blanket or bed-sheet if you don't want to invest in a sleeping bag)
  • 2 pairs of quick-dry clothing. (Please wear one pair on Friday night before coming to the railway station. You'll not get an opportunity to change during our travel.)
  • 2 pairs of socks

Food & Beverage

  • Min 2 liters of water each (Please bring reusable water bottles so that together we can discourage the use of plastic on the trails)
  • Snacks (Carry plenty of dry snacks, energy bars, candies & ORS to munch on during the trek)

  • Headtorch / Hand-held torch (Avoid mobile flashlights.)
  • Medicines (If you have any health issues. Please ensure that you inform our trek leaders beforehand.)
  • Sanitation kit (Carrying Odomos would come in handy)
