DAY 1 : Visapur Trek
Morning: Start early in the morning from Pune and make your way to the base village of Visapur Fort, which is Malavli. It takes approximately 2 hours to reach by road. After having your breakfast on the way, begin your trek to Visapur Fort, which usually takes around 2-3 hours, depending on your pace and the trail conditions. Enjoy the scenic views and immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the Sahyadri mountains.
Reach Visapur Fort and explore its historical significance and architectural marvels. Take your time to wander around the fort, visit its various structures, and admire the panoramic views from the top.After descending from Visapur Fort, head towards the nearby Bhaja Caves. These ancient rock-cut caves are located en route to Lonavala and are known for their historical and religious significance.
Post Lunch: Visit the Bhaja Caves and explore the intricate rock-cut Buddhist shrines and sculptures. Learn about the history and symbolism behind the cave art.
From Bhaja Caves, proceed to the Karla Caves, another remarkable site of ancient Buddhist rock-cut architecture. Take your time to explore the large prayer hall, beautifully carved pillars, and the grand Chaitya (prayer hall).
Arrival in Lonavala: After exploring the caves, make your way to Lonavala, which is approximately a 20-minute drive from Karla Caves. Upon arrival in Lonavala, you can spend the evening leisurely exploring the local markets, trying local snacks like chikki, and enjoying the pleasant weather of the hill station.
Night: Have dinner at a local restaurant in Lonavala, savoring the regional cuisine. Afterward, you can choose to stay overnight in Lonavala or head back to Pune, depending on your preferences and travel plans.

DAY 2: Lonavala
Morning: Start your day early in Lonavala and head to Tiger Point (also known as Tiger's Leap) to witness the beautiful sunrise. Enjoy the panoramic views of the valleys and surrounding hills.
After experiencing the sunrise, make your way to Lion Point (also known as Lion's Point) to enjoy more stunning views of the landscape
Post Breakfast: Proceed to Bhushi Dam, a popular tourist spot in Lonavala. Spend some time by the dam, enjoying the cascading waterfalls and the serene atmosphere. You can also take a dip in the cool water if you like.
Next, visit Lonavala Lake, a tranquil spot surrounded by lush greenery. Take a leisurely walk around the lake or simply sit back and relax in the peaceful surroundings
Post Lunch: Head towards Duke's Nose, a prominent viewpoint in Lonavala. Enjoy the breathtaking views of the surrounding valleys and the beautiful sunset from this vantage point. Afterward, start your journey toward Matheran. It takes approximately 2-3 hours to reach Matheran hilltop from Lonavala by road.
Arrival in Matheran: Once you arrive in Matheran, check into your accommodation and relax for the evening in hilltop.
Note: Matheran is a vehicle-free hill station, so you'll need to park your vehicle at Dasturi Naka and explore the town on foot, by horseback, or in a hand-pulled rickshaw.

DAY 3: Matheran
Morning: Begin your day in Matheran by having a leisurely breakfast at your accommodation. Start your exploration by visiting Panorama Point. This viewpoint offers stunning panoramic views of the Sahyadri mountain range and the surrounding valleys. Spend some time taking in the breathtaking vistas and capturing memorable photographs. Proceed to the Echo Point, where you can shout out and hear your voice echo in the serene surroundings. Enjoy the natural beauty and the peaceful ambiance of the location..Walk to Louisa Point, another beautiful viewpoint in Matheran. From here, you can enjoy panoramic views of the Prabal Fort and the historic Vishalgad and Prabalgad forts.
Lunch: Take a break for lunch at a local restaurant or enjoy a picnic with packed food amidst the picturesque surroundings.
Post Lunch: Visit the Reverse Waterfall, which is a unique phenomenon that occurs during the monsoon season. Due to the strong winds, the water from the nearby Charlotte Lake is pushed upward, creating a reverse waterfall effect. Please note that the reverse waterfall is seasonal and might not be present during certain times of the year. Check with the locals or authorities before planning your visit.
Departure to Mahabaleshwar: After exploring Matheran, it's time to depart for Mahabaleshwar. Make sure to check the travel time and distance between Matheran and Mahabaleshwar in advance to plan your departure accordingly.
Bid farewell to Matheran and head towards Mahabaleshwar, which is approximately a few hours away by road.
Overnight Stay: Mahabaleshwar
DAY 4: Mahabaleshwar
Morning: Begin your day by visiting the famous Lord Shiva Temple in Mahabaleshwar. Take some time to explore the temple and experience the spiritual ambiance.
Afterward, proceed to Lingmala Waterfalls:
Enjoy the scenic drive to Lingmala Waterfalls, a picturesque spot known for its breathtaking waterfall surrounded by lush greenery. Spend some time marvelling at the cascading waterfall and capturing beautiful photographs. Please note that swimming or playing in the water may not be allowed due to safety reasons.
Afternoon: Head to Mapro Gardens, a popular tourist attraction in Mahabaleshwar. Explore the gardens, indulge in various strawberry-based products, and treat yourself to their delicious strawberry milkshakes, ice creams, and chocolates. Take some time to relax and enjoy the pleasant surroundings of Mapro Gardens.
Next, visit Elephant's Head Point. Proceed to Elephant's Head Point (also known as Needle Point), which offers panoramic views of the Sahyadri mountain range and the surrounding valleys. Admire the unique rock formation that resembles an elephant's head and trunk, and take in the breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.
Evening: Head to Connaught Peak, the second-highest point in Mahabaleshwar. Enjoy the stunning views of the hills and valleys from this vantage point. Capture the scenic beauty and relax in the peaceful ambiance of Connaught Peak. Depart from Mahabaleshwar and make your way back to Pune, which takes around 2-3 hours by road, depending on the traffic conditions.
Stop at a local restaurant along the way to have dinner and savor some local Maharashtrian cuisine.& Catch a late-night bus to Hyderabad
Tip: While packing, you can use plastic bags to compartmentalize things and carry a few extra plastic bags for wet clothes. Maintain separate bag for used tissues & napkins & then dispose of it properly.
Note 1: We need not carry backpacks during the hikes with us. You can keep them inside the hotel or vehicle.
Note 2: Littering any kind of rappers, tissues, napkins, bottles or anything else will strictly not be entertained. So doers shall be on their own thereafter.
