Start your day early as the train or cab takes you from Pune to Dasturi, the base point for Matheran. The journey itself is scenic, with views of the Western Ghats and hill landscapes.
Dasturi Point is the last spot accessible by vehicle. From here, cars stop and the real charm begins. Carry just the essentials—water bottles, a light backpack, energy snacks, and comfortable shoes.
A scenic walk through forest trails leads you into Matheran, where the cool breeze and red-soil paths set the tone for a laid-back day. Along the way, you might spot horses, monkeys, and panoramic valley views.
Check into your stay, freshen up, and enjoy a simple local lunch. Spend the evening exploring nearby viewpoints like Echo Point and Charlotte Lake. Later, relax over a group dinner and unwind in the peaceful, no-vehicle atmosphere of Matheran.

By mid-morning, we’ll pack up and make our way back to Dasturi Point where vehicles are allowed, heading towards Lonavala. You’ll drive through scenic routes that pass lush greenery, mist-covered hills, and scenic lakes.
Once in Lonavala, take a quick break to visit Bhushi Dam or enjoy the views at Tiger Point. Afterward, continue your journey to Pawna Lake, arriving in the late afternoon.
At the campsite, you’ll be welcomed with hot tea and snacks. As the evening sets in, enjoy a bonfire, group games, and a delicious campfire dinner by the lake. Relax and unwind under the stars in the peaceful atmosphere of Pawna Camping.
Wake up early to the tranquil sounds of nature by Pawna Lake. Enjoy a peaceful morning, sipping tea and soaking in the stunning surroundings. After breakfast, take a short walk around the lake or relax by the water before preparing to leave the campsite.
We’ll begin our drive back to Pune, stopping in Lonavala for some final sightseeing and relaxation. Visit Lonavala Lake or indulge in some shopping for local chikki (a famous sweet) at the market. If time permits, you can also stop by Karla Caves or Bhaja Caves for a quick exploration of the historic Buddhist rock-cut caves.
By early afternoon, we’ll resume our drive back to Pune, arriving by late afternoon or evening, concluding this refreshing weekend getaway.
