Rajmachi is the place where one can experience immense surrounding natural beauty of the Mother Nature. It is the best place to visit, if you are a nature lover. Rajmachi Trek is the trek between Lonavala and Karjat, which are the two popular hill stations of Maharashtra. The trek is a 16 km long trek, where you can not only enjoy the scenaries and view points, but also can feel the sight of Waterfalls. River Ulhasnagar streams it’s water droplets from the gaps of the mountains and hills.
The fort is at an elevation of 2750 ft. Kondhana Caves can be found as a special attraction. Rajmachi consists of 2 forts, Shivadharan and Manaranjan. So, all the brave folks, trek lovers and mountain climbers will explore the heritage of these historical forts of Maharashtra. The architecture, the breeze touching your skin, the greenery, the valleys, beautiful waterfalls, structured caves, lush green mountains, all these make you forget your past and future and make sure you live in the present and live for the moment. The best time to visit Rajmachi is from June to November. During monsoon, it is a bit difficult. Therefore, winter is the best time, as it has the best weather, easy to walk and trek conveniently.
Khandala view point is one of the beautiful points filled with greenery. It is a hill station in the western ghats in the state of Maharashtra. The best time to visit this place is during the monsoons, as in this season the beauty and serenity of the place hits different. Khandala is special for its view points, waterfalls, sceneries, mountains and hills etc. The Khandala view point gives a special attraction to the tourists extending unparalleled beauty.
Visapur Fort is a fort near Visapur village in Maharashtra. It is a part of Lohagad Fort. Trek to this fort is considered as a moderately graded trek, good option for trek learners and beginners. There are three routes to ascend the fort, where one can choose any of the three and climb the fort around 1-2 hrs. One can trek with energy and excitement only by knowing the history of the fort.
Board the train at Hyderabad (8:40 pm)/ Begumpet (8:49 pm)/ Lingampally (9:12 pm). Reach the station on time. While you pack yours bags, also pack some energy and excitement for a good trek. Your guide will meet you at the station/ at your designated seats.
As the train reaches Pune railway station, make sure you complete all your morning routines so as to save time and not to miss the beautiful viewpoints from the window seat, as the route from Pune to Lonavala would be beautiful. We will reach Lonavala railway station by 10 AM and we will board the private bus hired exclusively for GoAdventure and then head to the base village of Rajmachi. On the way to the village, you will stop for breakfast. You can have the breakfast of your choice, which would be filled with some authentic flavours of Maharashtra. Then, after we reach the base village, the vehicle will be parked there and you will start your trek from here.
(Note: Leave your unnecessary stuff in the vehicle and only carry your trek essentials like quilts, pair of clothes, water bottles, energy bars etc. Don’t forget to wear your shoe.)
We will be assigned a trek leader, who will guide us by mentioning all the information regarding the place and trek. As you trek, you experience inner peace, and you can also experience the touch and connectivity of the basic elements of nature (Air, Water, Earth, Fire). As you go farther from the land and climb the mountains, you not only leave your footprints, but also leave your sorrows and continue trekking.
The first place you would reach is the Kondhana Caves. It is easy to trek here, where you reach the caves only in an hour with no difficulty. These Buddhist Caves can be reached by descending from Rajmachi village. The construction, architecture and the wooden pattern are remarkable and notable. From there, you can also find a water body ( River Ulhas) which is 500 mtrs from the caves and very refreshing. “You don’t drown by falling in the water, you drown by staying there”. After spending some quality time, you will continue trekking until the dawn. Then, you will reach the village called Udhewadi, a small village at the higher altitudes, where we can stay for the night.

We will have dinner at the village, which would be prepared by the locals. Vegetarian and Non-Vegetarian thalis , both are available. Then we can play some games and rest ourselves.
As the clock strikes 4 in the morning, you will get a wake up call from your trek leads. A quick fresh up and then start the trek to the Rajmachi Fort. From Udhewadi, it takes approximately 50 mins to reach the Fort top. You will experience the foggy weather, fresh air and scenery. The view would be all worth. After taking few pictures and exploring, we would start to descend towards the village. You will reach the village with happiness and trek satisfaction, where all the sights would be still running in your mind. Then, have breakfast provided by GoAdventure, which would include Poha and Tea. Then, we will head towards the Lonavala.
Then, we will reach the Khandala view point, where one can witness the beauty and serenity of the gush of the cascading waterfalls, I Love Khandala and I Love Mumbai photo booths to click pictures. Food stalls can also be found, where you can taste the food of Maharashtra. The view point gives a special attraction to the tourists as it is beautiful and a treat to your eyes. Here, you can also climb the ladder to witness the beauty of Lonavala and Khandala from a higher altitude. This view point is very splendid and significant. All these places are very close to each other, so we can visit them by having a short drive.
The route will be very much scenic with lush greenery, hills and mountains, cool breeze, flora and fauna and many more.
From there, we will go to the campsite. This is going to be a campsite with good amenities. (washrooms are available).
Then you can have your dinner provided by GoAdventures. The dinner would be a Maharashtrian thali with some authentic flavours. Here, you can enjoy some entertainment and camp fire. You can also sit together and share your travel experiences with your friends and fellow trekkers. Then end your day with a good sleep.
Wakeup in the morning, with good and positive vibes and a wide smile. Just close your eyes and listen to the nature keenly, where you can hear many beautiful things not only by seeing but also by hearing. The birds chirping, the sound of the cool breeze, the waterfalls roaring, all these makes your morning a beautiful one. Then have your breakfast provided by GoAdventure. Breakfast would usually include Poha and Tea. After having breakfast, checkout from the campsite, by packing all your luggages and bags. From there, we would head towards Visapur by trekking.
Visapur Fort near Visapur village, which is a sister fort of Lohagad. Trek to this fort can be considered as a moderately graded trek, one of the good options for beginners. Here you can enjoy the glory of the nature. Each and everyone can enjoy the trek by knowing the history of the Visapur fort. Especially, during the monsoons, this trek would be even more special and beautiful as there will be water gushing through your path as you ascend.
After spending around 2 hours there, we would start our return journey to the Lonavala Railway Station. On the way to the station, we would stop for a lunch break, where you can have the food of your choice. Then board the train to Hyderabad as the trip has come to an end.
