Salher Salota Forts Trek


We are glad to come up with another beautiful trek in the Western Ghats. The Salher fort trek, especially in monsoons will keep you hooked with mesmerizing landscape views throughout the trail. We will start our trail from the base village of Salher-wadi around noon. The trail begins with an easy and almost flat hiking section.

The trail further is all about traversing slopes and few staircase sections near every fort entry gate. The stairs are easy to climb. All you need to ensure is to have a slow and steady pace ensuring a good grip.


Hyderabad to Manmad (Day 0):

Salher fort (Day 1):

It will be around 6am by the time we reach Manmad station. We will have to freshen up in the train itself. We will get into our hired vehicles and start to the base village. We will have breakfast on the way. After breakfast we will start towards Salherwadi village which is the base for salher salota forts trek. From Salherwadi village we will be able to spot the two forts and a trench in between them. Our first destination point would be the trench. To reach the trench, we will have to walk through a long trail wi

 

 

▸ Day 02: (Sunday)
06:00 am: Wake up call & Explore nearby areas
08:00 am: Start decent via Salota fort
02:00 pm: Reach base village
09:00 pm: Catch train to Hyderabad

▸ Day 03: (Monday)
09.00 am: Reach Hyd.


Clothing & Footwear

  • Walking/Sports/Trekking shoe. (Please make sure that you are using soft rubber-sole footwear)
  • A pair of sandals/ flip-flops
  • 30-40 L backpack (Do not carry suitcases or trolleys)
  • Sleeping bag (You can replace it by a thin blanket or bed-sheet if you don't want to invest in a sleeping bag)
  • 3 pairs of quick-dry clothing. (Please wear one pair on Friday night before coming to the railway station. You'll not get an opportunity to change during our travel.)
  • 3 pairs of socks

Food & Beverage

  • Min 2 liters of water each (Please bring reusable water bottles so that together we can discourage the use of plastic on the trails)
  • Snacks (Carry plenty of dry snacks, energy bars, candies & ORS to munch on during the trek)

 Miscellaneous:

  • Camera
  • Power bank
  • Govt. Issued ID proof
  • Headtorch / Hand-held torch (Avoid mobile flashlights.)
  • Medicines (If you have any health issues. Please ensure that you inform our trek leaders beforehand.)
  • Sanitation kit (Carrying Odomos would come in handy)

  • Raincoat, rain cover for your bag, zip lock punches for mobiles
  • Sun cap
  • Goggles
