Are you planning a road trip to Tawang? Here are things you should be aware of. Tawang is in the state of Arunachal Pradesh which in part of NorthEast India. Arunachal witness the first sunrise in the country. Day starts here pretty early and ends early as well. Tawang has lot of monasteries and Buddhism culture. 

Also, Arunachal Pradesh is sharing a 1,129 km border with China's Tibet Autonomous Region. We will be having an opportunity to interact with the brave soldiers of Indian Army. We can also Chinese army at LAC within few meters away from us. 


Day 1: Guwahati to Bomidla
Day 2: Bomidla to Tawang
Day 3: Tawang Local sightseeing
Day 4: Tawang to Bumla Pass
Day 5: Tawang to Bomidla
Day 6: Bomidla to Guwahati

 

Guwahati to Bomidla Drive (Day 1)

Report at Guwahati airport before 10 AM. We will head towards to Bomidla. Enroute we will have our lunch. At Bairavkunda - We will submit our ILP and enter into Arunachal Pradesh. By evening, we will reach Bomidla and check-in the stay.

Bomidla to Tawang (Day 2)

After the breakfast  we will continue our journey to Tawang.

Places to visit from Bomidla to Tawang:

  • Sela Pass
  • Sela Lake
  • Jung waterfalls

Stay at Tawang.

Tawang local sightseeing (Day 3)

We will spend the day to explore Tawang along with shopping at local markets.

Places to visit in Tawang:

  • Tawang Monastery
  • Buddha statue
  • War memorial  
    • Laser and Sound show 
      • In this Laser and Sound show at War memorial in Tawang, We will get to know the stories of Arunachal Pradesh and the brave tales of Indian soldiers during the 1961 Indo-China war.

Stay: Tawang

Bumla pass - Madhuri lake - Few more (Day 4)

We will apply for separate vehicle and another permit a day before since it’s Indo-China border. Only vehicles from Tawang with special permit.

  • Madhuri lake
  • Bumla pass - 15,200 ft

Stay: Tawang

Tawang to Bomidla (Day 5)

Jaswantgarh

Dirang Monastery

Sangti Valley

We will visit these places on our way back to Bomidla. If time permits, we will visit Bomidla monastery as well

Bomidla to Guwahati Drop (Day 6)

We will return to Guwahati airport today early morning. We will drop at Airport by 4 PM. You can plan your further journey after 6 PM
