Day 0: Chennai – Mysore 

Board your overnight train from Chennai to Mysore.

Notes:

  • Carry valid ID proof.
  • Keep light woolens handy for Coorg weather.
  • Pack minimal luggage for easy transfers.
  • Keep basic snacks and water for the train journey.


Day 1: Arrival in Mysore, Sightseeing in Coorg

Arrival at the railway station in Mysore. Drive for about three to four hours to get to Coorg.
Go to the Golden Temple, Namdroling Monastery. Take some time to explore the monastery in peace.
Afterwards, visit Dubare Elephant Camp to engage with elephants and, if available, go rafting.
Head to the stay to retire for the day.

Notes:

  • At Namdroling, keep quiet and wear modest clothing.
  • At Dubare, strictly adhere to the directives of forest officials.
  • Rafting is paid for directly and is seasonal.
  • Because there will be walking, wear comfortable shoes.

Day 2: Mandalpatti, Abbey Falls, Raja's Seat, and Travel Back

For sweeping views of the valley, go to Mandalpatti early in the morning (a jeep ride is required from base point).
Continue to Abbey Falls, which is encircled by coffee plantations.
Later, take in the sunset and picturesque valley views from Raja's Seat.
After you've finished your sightseeing, head to Mysore Railway Station to catch your overnight train to Chennai.

Notes:

  • Private vehicles are prohibited from reaching Mandalpatti Top; jeeps incur additional fees.
  • It is strictly forbidden to enter the water at Abbey Falls.
  • To avoid crowds and delays, start early.

Day 3: Arrival in Chennai

Arrive in Chennai with beautiful memories of Coorg.
